Learn to identify new product and service strategies for growing your business and creating customer value. In this module, you will develop a business opportunity map that leverages your strengths; learn how to identify and build a company-wide brand strategy that works; and discover ways to execute on that to grow the business. Training will conclude with a session designed to strengthen networking skills.

High-growth small businesses frequently attribute their success to the quality and dedication of their people. This module will help you to hire, develop and retain talented individuals from diverse groups, including a millennial workforce who can help you grow their business. We use various exercises to assess and understand your business culture and human capital management to jumpstart growth; and then work with you to incorporate new practices in the design and implementation of your business growth plans.

There is a recent surge in entrepreneurs tackling financial literacy. Business owners must understand a company’s financial statements as basic “rules of the road” and how they relate to each other to help them set goals, benchmark progress, and grow their revenue and bottom line. In this module, you will understand and learn to predict patterns of cash flow and pricing strategies. You will identify key performance indicators benchmarked against your industry, then develop analysis and forecasting methods to plan and monitor business growth.
*November 9, 2017: Building a Sales Team (presented by Carver Peterson)
Sales, selling, and the management of the whole marketing system, including social media platforms, are critical aspects to growing a business. This module focuses on understanding the nature of customer relations, and teaches a process to build a pipeline and close more sales. The workshop also includes exercises that allow you to improve your personal selling skills, as well as understand and apply various social media platforms to sales.
*November 16, 2017: Implement Process Improvement (presented by onPurpose Growth)
Entrepreneurs and small business owners frequently lament that they do not know how to effectively implement their growth strategies because “everything needs to be done at once.” This module will teach you how to create and organize cross-functional teams who are engaged and sequence the various aspects of growth plans to prepare for successful implementation. Training emphasizes operations, including workflows and critical insights to help navigate weaknesses and increase the businesses strengths. You will learn to analyze gaps and bridge where the business is and where they want to be.
*November 30, 2017: Learn to Become Bankable (presented by WinTrust)
In this module, you will review the different types of financing available, including debt and equity, and understand their differences. You will learn how to obtain financial capital through each. Workshop leaders will help you understand which funding sources are most appropriate for your business. Fundamental business valuation techniques are also examined as a possible metric to assess a company’s growth prospects. Training will be facilitated by a panel of experts who will coach you in being confident in raising money or accessing capital.
*December 7, 2017: How to Execute on a Growth Plan (presented by ConVerge, Ice Miller and WinTrust)
There are many resources required to make a business venture successful and sustainable. Entrepreneurship and business ownership does not have to be a lonely endeavor. In this module, you will be introduced to the role of external business advisors (i.e. mentors, entrepreneur coach, advisory boards). You will explore best practices for accessing and implementing their advice and timing for services, which are based on reaching key milestones. After graduating from the program, you will have the opportunity to present or pitch a growth plan and receive feedback from a panel as they prepare you to implement strategies.
